Relief Security Officer 

 

Location: Biggin Hill, Kent

Pay Rate: £13.75ph

 

Job Overview

  • perform front-of-house duties, greeting staff and signing in visitors ensuring adherence to the Customer's visitor management policy.
  • fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
  • patrol the entire Customer campus and register at the specified check points.
  • create and allocate ID/access badges as well as challenging those Customer staff who are not adhering to related badging policies.
  • serve as the first point of contact for all visitors to the Location and maintain strong geographical awareness of their local surroundings.
  • be proficient in answering phones and emails, and in using standard IT systems.
  • Have strong experience in CCTV, access control, fire and other associated systems and be able to undertake specific training in these systems to ensure competent use.
  • CCTV licence desirable but not essential. Training can be provided.
  • respond to all alarms (panic alarms, PIDS, forced doors, etc) and test the panic alarm on a weekly basis

 

The provision of Personnel is required to be made up of high calibre, experienced security officers to support the Customer's operations at the Location.  

  • identify and act upon all suspicious or potentially criminal activity, retaining full control until the emergency services arrive.
  • use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
  • provide emergency response in a crisis, including medical and fire incidents, to help ensure the safety of all the Customer's staff and visitors whilst working directly with the Customer's emergency response team.
  • maintain strong lines of communication with the Customer's security team leadership.
  • escalate any facilities or maintenance issues to the facilities team.
  • deliver event security services where required by the Customer, ensuring that the Customer's brand is represented professionally to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • look out for, and to immediately report, any health & safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
  • Personnel will be expected to keep their clothing neat, clean and well presented at all times. Uniforms shall not have rips, tears, visible repairs, missing buttons, excessive tightness or bagginess.
  • Personnel shall monitor the access control and CCTV system for suspicious activity and investigate as necessary. Any system faults will be reported to the Customer's security team immediately.
  • Personnel must maintain strict confidentiality of all the Customer's proprietary materials and information, including all Customer information that might be seen by the Personnel in the course of providing the Services.

  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in each case in English.
  • team player with an enthusiastic, proactive attitude.
  • ability to work both independently, using their own initiative, and within a team.
  • flexible approach to work to suit business needs.
  • ability to go above and beyond to support the Customer.
  • understanding of relevant local laws to aid in effective job delivery.
  • Ability to work a 4 on 4 off roster pattern
