We are looking for Head of Finance who will be reporting to the Divisional Finance Director and will be responsible for the financial leadership and management of the Mitie Telecoms business.

Mitie Telecoms is a complex and challenging projects business made up of multiple legal entities and business streams, built up from a series of acquisitions over several years.

The aim of this role is to manage the overall financial performance of a business area such that working capital, financial risk, revenue & costs are monitored, controlled & managed appropriately and all financial targets associated with business & operational activities are achieved in line with corporate & statutory requirements. Manage a team of FBPs to deliver operational and commercial excellence to senior stakeholders (internal & external), delivering value add to revenue growth and margin enhancement, mitigating risks and leveraging opportunities.

As a member of the business/division senior management team, you will contribute to decision-making and long-term development, ensuring business growth and margin targets are achieved. By delivering operational business partnering to stakeholders (internal/external), you will drive business performance.

Your role will involve managing, motivating, planning, directing, and supervising the activities of assigned personnel, ensuring staff development and that the finance function is resourced and skilled to meet its obligations. You will identify areas of financial risk, putting in place actions to manage, control, or hedge risks as necessary.

In managing cash and working capital performance within the business area, you will mitigate risks and leverage opportunities. By monitoring the overall performance of the business area, you will ensure it meets all financial and compliance requirements, as well as its legal obligations.

You will direct and co-ordinate the planning and preparation of annual and long-term capital and operating budgets, agreeing with senior managers before submitting them to the group or corporate for approval. It will be your responsibility to ensure that management accounts and other financial data are accurate, concise, and up to date.

About You

This is a senior financial appointment within the Division's senior financial management team. In this role, you will be directly accountable for the financial probity of the business area, working closely with senior managers to ensure that both business and operational financial targets are achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified professional with over five years of commercial and technical experience. You will possess excellent analytical skills and a strong ability to understand and solve complex issues.

As an effective communicator, you will have excellent stakeholder management skills and be a strong influencer, capable of working comfortably in a matrix environment. Considerable experience at a senior level is essential for success in this role.
