We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Director to take the lead in major strategic opportunities for Mitie Healthcare to manage and co-ordinate the projects bidding process to deliver high-quality bids that win new business opportunities. Ensure that all bids are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Deliver high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring bids in response to customer requirements, and support the Business Development Director in securing the company's position as the preferred solution provider. This is a matrix management driven role where in addition to a working alongside the bid team there will be the need to take and co-ordinate inputs from SME's, and solution experts to define a winning proposal within the bidding process.

Main Duties

  • Support the Business Development Director in the development and implementation of the overall commercial and technical proposal strategy, including the development of win themes, differentiated solutions, and pricing strategies.
  • Engage with client/procurement team representatives as Mitie's lead point of contact. Conduct presentations, negotiations and competitive dialogue sessions with client teams to represent our winning bid proposals in the best light.
  • Analyse the tender documentation and associated specification and develop a clear understanding of the client's requirements to ensure that the bid addresses all of the customer's need and is fully compliant.
  • Conduct research to gather information about the client, their industry, and their competitors to ensure the proposal is tailored to their needs.
  • Develop and manage the detailed bid plans that outline the approach, schedule, and resource requirements for all the activities required to complete each bid. This includes defining milestones, setting deadlines, and coordinating team activities to ensure that the bid is submitted on time.
  • Coordinate the input of various cross-functional teams, including commercial, technical, and legal, subject matter experts to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality submission. This includes leading the team through the entire process, providing guidance on content, structure, and messaging, and ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Review and contribute to storyboards and other documents to ensure that all of the requirements are addressed, translate win strategies into clear and compelling bid themes and direct the writing and editing of bid text.
  • Prepare and submit winning commercial solutions, bid proposals, and presentations.
  • Complete and update governance processes and documentation.
  • Proven experience in managing facilities workstreams and project teams.

 

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience as a Senior Bid Manager / Bid Director, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring bids in response to new business opportunities in the Healthcare or Public Sector arena.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and deliver a detailed bid plan and to manage the bid process from start to finish.
  • Ability to analyse the customer, the business and the competitors and drive the development of a strategy that is ethical, implementable and cost effective.
  • Ability to plan alternative courses of action to accommodate non-compliance, discuss compliance with the customer, effectively communicate compliance requirements to team
  • Ability to advise and supervise others, use different sales approaches adaptively to suit the organisation and the customer, work with sales teams to influence the customer, participate in sales strategy development, think ‘outside of the box' advising on the implications of options, initiate and sponsor new ideas
  • Ability to support bid process undertaking all elements of this process commercially, technically as well as bid writing to ensure a winning solution is submitted to the client.
