ROLE: Water Technician
HOURS: 40 hour per week
LOCATION: Glasgow

We're looking for a Water Technician who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water treatments for our customers, ensuring water is safe and meets regulatory standards. The position will support the key functions of the business by providing services as and when required and carrying out tasks allocated in accordance with all method statements and the fundamental rules of Marlowe Environmental Services.


Role Responsibilities

  • Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
  • Must not exceed one audit failure per year.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

  • Ensure all equipment used is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Have skills in line with levels 1 & 2 as well as either:
    • Technical service (closed heating and chilled system testing, cooling tower weekly/monthly checks and water treatment of boilers)
    • Plumbing & water treatment remedial skills
    • Acid descaling of boilers, towers and condensers
    • Ability to carry out multiple tasks across a range of work disciplines and take responsibility for identifying personal training needs, raising these with your Line Manager
    • Ability to train less experienced technicians/engineers
    • Ability to occasionally work in any other role reasonably within capabilities
    • Ability to interpret results, reports and make recommendations

Depending on the entity you work for you may also be required to:

  • Conduct secondary disinfection testing, plant inspections and servicing
  • Carry out Silver Copper analysis and service visits
  • Conduct BSRIA Chemistry and BSRIA Micro sampling
  • Undertake closed system analysis, top‑ups and dosing via various methods
  • Perform plumbing & water treatment remedial skills
