ROLE: Water Technician – Level 2
HOURS: 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Edinburgh

We're looking for a Water Technician – Level 2 who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water treatments for our customers. This role ensures that water is safe and meets regulatory standards.

Role Responsibilities (4–5 lines)

Carry out all Level 1 Technician tasks, including TMV valve servicing, cooling tower and tank cleaning, inspections, temperature monitoring, sampling, descaling, and flushing little‑used outlets.
Autonomously complete cooling tower cleaning and disinfection, including replacement of packing, eliminators, troughs and spray nozzles.
Complete tank inspections, clean and disinfect both gravity‑fed and boosted systems, and conduct endoscopic calorifier inspections.
Undertake mains injection pipework chlorination works, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed on the tablet and electronic system.
Lead jobs involving multiple technicians when required and demonstrate competency through successful completion of the HTM 04 Safe Water in Healthcare Premises course.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrates good, competent water treatment knowledge with strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
Effective communication abilities, including strong literacy, verbal and listening skills, alongside excellent client service capability.
Strong time management and administration skills, with confidence using IT systems, phone or tablet applications in line with operational requirements.
Excellent time‑keeping, sound work ethics, cultural awareness and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Holds a valid UK Driving Licence and meets compliant DBS and any required customer‑specific security checks.
