Job Overview

We are currently looking for a mobile Water Hygiene Engineer to complete a range of Legionella maintenance PPMs, remedial cleaning, sampling, chemical testing, minor plumbing and electro / mechanical tasks to meet our clients' requirements.  Are you somone who can deliver a high quality of service, with a keen eye for detail? 

Main Duties

  • Completion of routine monitoring tasks in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8. This is a mobile role, travelling to client sites and completing the necessary tasks to maintain compliance.
  • To champion QHSE, work within and contribute to Mitie's Health and Safety Culture – Live Safe At Mitie.
  • To be an ambassador for Mitie whilst visiting customers sites.
  • Maintain customer's water log books and complete the necessary documentation in line with current guidelines and company policy.
  • To take a variety of water samples from multiple sector properties and document these samples in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out water system clean and disinfections in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L8 and company procedures.
  • Testing, servicing and maintaining of thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing works where required.
  • The ability to complete works on heating and chilled water systems and chlorine dioxide / dosing systems is desirable but not essential.
  • To communicate on a daily basis regarding task completion, non-satisfactory works or H&S issues.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of chemicals and materials as necessary.
  • Ensure that any equipment for which you are responsible is kept clean and is properly maintained.
  • Are you able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers of Mitie?
  • Can you take a personal responsibility for your own health and safety and the safety of those around you? You will be required to follow safety procedures, wear all PPE correctly, as per company policy and any site-specific requirements.
  • Any other reasonable task requested by your manager and / or the business.

 

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience within Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining water systems is desirable.
  • Basic IT skills, preferably with Microsoft package is a necessary skill.
  • The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively is required in every part of this role.
  • Are you someone who is organised and can manage their time effectively?
  • Do you have the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines?
  • We need engineers who can deliver a very high quality of service, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Our engineers should be able to work on their own and as part of a team when required
