The Role:
As a Multiskilled Shift Engineer with an electrical bias, you will be responsible for the pro-active and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of building services and critical plant equipment on a highly regulated pharmaceutical site. Working as part of a dedicated shift team, you will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the site, adhering to strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and safety standards
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding: Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, system panels, Building management systems
Mechanical Maintenance: Carrying out maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, motors, compressed air systems, and water treatment plant
Building Services: Maintaining and troubleshooting general building services including plumbing, drainage, and building systems
Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, site procedures, and safety standards. Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing necessary documentation
Shift Operations: Working as part of a shift team, responding to breakdowns and ensuring continuity of operations across the site
Communication: Effectively communicating with the site team, client representatives, and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and site issues
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment
Health & Safety: Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment
Escalation: Identifying and escalating complex issues to specialist teams or management as required
About You
Essential:
Recognised electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
Proven experience as a Multiskilled Shift Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a commercial or industrial environment
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Good understanding of mechanical systems and building services
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and can-do attitude with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail
Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (days and nights)
