Job Title: Trainee Fire Sprinkler Engineer
Location: Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and practical individual to join our team as a Trainee Fire Sprinkler Engineer. This entry-level role offers hands-on training and industry-recognised qualifications in the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire sprinkler systems. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers to develop the skills needed to become a fully qualified Fire Sprinkler Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Support in identifying faults, carrying out repairs, and replacing components when required
  • Follow company procedures and ensure compliance with relevant fire protection standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, LPCB)
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
  • Complete training modules, attend safety briefings, and participate in assessments as part of professional development
  • Foster positive communication with clients, contractors, and team members on site
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly observed at all times

Skills & Attributes

  • Practical, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior engineers
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying site conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, mechanical systems, or construction (desirable but not essential)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English (required)
  • Full UK driving licence 
  • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • No previous experience necessary—full training is provided

Training & Progression

  • Structured training programme leading to qualifications such as:
    • LPCB  / BAFE training modules
    • NVQ in Fire Sprinkler Installation
    • In-house technical and safety training
  • Clear progression path to roles such as:
    • Fire Sprinkler Engineer
    • Lead Engineer
    • Project Supervisor / Manager
