Job Overview

The Social Value Co-ordinator will play an important role in supporting the Social Value Manager, embedding the strategy on the DWP contract. You'll be self-motivated, with a strong understanding of and passion for delivering community impact. You'll present as a confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders at all levels.

The Social Value Co-ordinator will be responsible for managing volunteering opportunities, ensuring they are aligned with our 5 Social Value pillars: Education, Employment, Health and Wellbeing, Environment, and Diverse Supply Chain. You will work with Regional Social Value Champions to manage volunteering relationships locally, maximising engagement and ensuring opportunities are promoted to colleagues and the client well in advance of events.

Main Duties

  • Support the Social Value Manager in establishing and facilitating outcome-driven, effective partnerships with stakeholders, local SMEs, key strategic partners and employers, seeking opportunities to collaborate within local groups with shared community objectives.
  • Report data accurately, ensuring all regional volunteering hours are recorded within the volunteering spreadsheet, Do-IT, and the Social Value Portal.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate volunteering events across all regions, understanding the needs of local partners and communities, maximising impact and ensuring a consistent schedule of activity.
  • Demonstrate impact through case studies, contributing to the Social Value newsletter, annual report, client presentations and social media content.
  • Contribute to Social Value Champion monthly calls and Mental Health virtual meetings.
  • Support the Social Value Manager in delivering employability and education sessions, with a view to delivering sessions independently over time.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with the Mitie Foundation, ensuring alignment with wider group programmes and campaigns.
  • Engage with and promote Mitie's ED&I networks.
  • Keep up to date with political, environmental and social changes, identifying opportunities and potential risks.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in building and managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A good understanding of customer service levels and KPI management.
  • Ability to empower, coach, motivate and develop others.
  • A diligent, organised and methodical approach to work, with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong administrative skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • A flexible approach to work, with a willingness to support additional tasks where required.
