We are looking for a Site Manager to lead the security operation at the M&S Welham Green Distribution Centre. The role is responsible for delivering exceptional security services on site, ensuring a safe, secure and customer-focused environment, fully aligned with Mitie and M&S values.
Salary: £43,000 plus a wide range of Mitie benefits including Pension, Save as You Earn, Share Incentive Plans, MiDeals, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers.
Full and extensive training will be provided.
The Site Manager will be the key point of contact for all site security matters, managing the on-site team of Security Officers and Supervisors to ensure service excellence, compliance, and effective client engagement.
Lead, motivate and manage Security Officers and Supervisors at M&S Welham Green to ensure high standards of performance, conduct and professionalism.
Ensure accurate incident reporting and record keeping via Merlin and site systems.
Oversee scheduling and ensure all contracted and ad-hoc hours are delivered by trained and competent staff.
Monitor site performance, absence and turnover; take ownership of recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing colleague development to ensure team retention and stability.
Manage site budgets and expenditure responsibly, ensuring service delivery is not compromised.
Take responsibility for site-specific Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with all company and client requirements.
Act as Duty Manager on site, coordinating responses to incidents and ensuring escalation procedures are followed.
Maintain up-to-date Assignment Instructions and ensure all staff are briefed and compliant.
Hold regular structured review meetings with M&S management at Welham Green, producing professional reports and action plans.
Complete daily reconciliations to ensure billing and pay accuracy.
Build strong relationships with both the client and third-party suppliers to ensure service quality remains consistent and customer satisfaction is achieved.
Work collaboratively with the Regional Manager and Mitie support teams to drive improvements and maintain consistency across the wider M&S contract.
Literate and numerate, with strong IT and reporting skills.
Professional appearance and presentation.
Organised and methodical, able to prioritise effectively.
Resilient and tenacious, with a positive “can do” approach.
Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of a busy distribution centre.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Holds a valid frontline SIA licence.
Holds a full UK driving licence.
Follow Group and Company policies and procedures at all times.
Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work, equipment, or processes that may risk service delivery, health & safety, or the environment.
Use all work equipment and PPE properly, in accordance with training received.
Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or via the divisional incident reporting system.
