Job objectives and responsibilities
• Security lead for all Mitie site based Supervisors and SO's
• Actively drive for service excellence, sustainability, social values and efficiency initiatives at local level;
• Co-ordinate the local delivery of all security operations
• Effective and pro-active communication with the Telehouse client
• Carry out pre-audit for monthly KPI meetings for all security operations
• Manage client expectations and resolve all concerns in timely manner
• Assist Mitie Senior Operations Manager and local Mitie Team as required
• Management of and responsibility for site security equipment
Main Duties
• Conduct regular reviews of both sites and ensure that all issues identified are reported and resolved
• Communicate effectively and proactively with the security team and Telehouse client
• Ensure smooth running of the Telehouse security operation at all times leading by example to deliver to the high standards Telehouse expect
• Manage all aspects of site based Mitie security staff for example (list is not exhaustive):
o management of holidays
o manage unplanned absence
o appraisals and performance management
o staff training routine and management of training records
o management of the incident reporting processes
o local management of additional works requests and proactive / timely coms with Telehouse
• Ensure all Telehouse officers have read and signed the up to date Assignment Instructions
• Ensure the security risk assessments have been signed off and regularly reviewed.
• Assist Mitie Senior Operations Managers with recruitment, training and as directed
• Ensure both North and South Security Teams are visited weekly.
• To measure performance and make appropriate and agreed changes for improvement
• Works collaboratively with all stakeholders to review and implement relevant operational processes for the business
• Ensure all processes and policies are correctly applied and adhered to at all times.
• Undertake monthly audits of processes to ensure compliance
• Undertake regular tests of processes to ensure robust application
• Ensure all officers at all locations are correctly trained for required duties
• Complete tool box talks to support training
• Undertake meetings and conference calls with client when required
• Timely completion and submission of monthly reports
• Creating reports as required and ensuring online/shared reports are kept up to date
• To have a thorough knowledge of routine and emergency procedures and be able to respondefficiently and appropriately to any eventuality.
• Effectively oversee all tasks, in-line with SOPs.
• To respond and manage all incidents and follow escalation procedures.
• Overseeing the management of site Access Control System.
• Provide complete written reports.
• Support and develop the team's performance
• Support with any HR issue son site.
Person Specification – Key competancies
• SIA Licence – Minimum standard
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a similar role
• Must understand client needs within a Data Centre Environment
• Ability to inspire and lead team to deliver the highest service standards at all times
• Effective communicator at all levels
• Must have exceptional understanding of security services within a date centre environment
• Understand key Mitie principles and assist in delivering this in every aspect of site functions
• Must have excellent IT skills and a good understanding of all Microsoft Office applications
Health and Safety responsibilities
• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
