Looking to move roles but not leaving the Mitie family?

Why not share your experience with others about life at Mitie?

Better places, thriving communities.

Looking for a new direction, a fresh opportunity, or a chance to grow your skills in a hands-on, supportive environment?

Whether you're returning to work, exploring a second career, or simply ready to try something different – this could be the start of something brilliant.

At Mitie, we care deeply about the people and places we support. As the UK's leading facilities management company, we help keep buildings safe, welcoming, and running smoothly – from offices and universities to hospitals and heritage sites. We're proud to be partnering with the Scottish Government, delivering essential services to over 70 sites across the country – including research centres, Marine Scotland buildings, and the First Minister's residence.

Joining Mitie means being part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and making a real difference. We'll help you kick-start your career with purpose, passion, and plenty of support.

The Role

As an Apprentice Service Desk Coordinator, you'll play a key part in supporting our engineering and facilities operations while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. This role offers the perfect blend of hands-on experience and structured learning, setting you up for a successful career in business administration and facilities management.

You'll learn to:

  • Support the Service Desk team with scheduling and planning works for engineers and subcontractors

  • Update and maintain jobs on our CAFM systems (Maximo and Click planning platform)

  • Monitor shared mailboxes, ensuring emails are actioned promptly and accurately

  • Review certifications, worksheets, and contractor reports, highlighting any remedial works required

  • Prepare purchase orders, quotations, and supporting documentation for contract works

  • Assist managers with reporting, management information, and customer updates

  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, managers, engineers, and external suppliers

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a SCQF Level 6 Digital Application Support Diploma.  You will be fully supported by our partner, Elite Modern Apprenticeships to achieve this qualification by having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office.

Our dedicated Apprenticeship Team will support you every step of the way, helping you make the most of your opportunities and to achieve the goals you already have – and those you have yet to discover!

What We're Looking For

We're searching for motivated and ambitious individuals who are keen to learn and ready to take on new challenges. To succeed, you'll need:

  • A willingness to learn and grow into the role

  • Commitment to completing your apprenticeship qualification

  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office tools

  • A flexible, “can do” attitude

  • Strong communication skills – able to interact with colleagues, managers, and suppliers

  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • A creative, problem-solving approach, using information and technology to find solutions

  • An understanding of process and compliance requirements

Essential:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4–9 or equivalent), or Scottish National 5s (Grades A–C) – certificates must be provided at interview
