Position: Senior Project Manager

Location: Bristol

Role Type: Full time, 40 hours, Monday to Friday

Mitie have a brand new opportunity for an established Project Manager experienced in Civils / Construction to join their team in Bristol team.

 

Job Overview

  • As a key figure reporting to the Head of Projects and Commercial Lead, this role requires a deep understanding of business needs and functions, effectively translating them to the teams through SMART objectives, KPIs, and clear communication.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships at all levels (internal and external) is vital, alongside ensuring comprehensive governance of schemes from inception to completion.
  • Promoting a team-centric approach and possessing robust problem-solving and decision-making skills are crucial. Additionally, the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders, suppliers, and company leaders is paramount to ensure smooth execution.
  • Ensuring accountability within the team and nurturing leadership through mentorship and development are essential aspects. Finally, representing Mitie within client leadership teams and steering groups, providing guidance and governance, and championing four pillars – Health & Safety, People, Commercial, and Quality – are key responsibilities.

 

Main Duties

Defining scope of work from client/customer brief.

Pre Construction Planning and Design coordination

Familiar with the production of a risk and opportunity  register

Support QS with RFI's and technical queries and target cost development 

Supply Chain selection 

Familiar with planning tools 

Governance of scheme around time, cost and quality

Stakeholder management including but not limited to Customer, Client and suppliers

Client liaison and producing weekly/monthly reports

Monitor progress and update programme accordingly 

Team collaboration including supply chain

Ensure compliance to H&S policies and procedures

QSHE inspections and reporting near misses/hazardous and safe observations 

Chair meetings including but not limited to pre start/progress meetings

Support collection of data for O&M and H&S file

 

What we are looking for

  • Pro-active leader with an in-depth understanding of business needs and policies,
  • Experience Managing projects within a Civils, Construction, Electrical / Mechanical setting
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures, while fostering team accountability and personal development
  • Experience in a Client facing role
  • Excellent stakeholder / client management experience
  • Confidence in communication, dealing with multiple people
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required for liaising with internal and external stakeholder
