MITIE is seeking an experienced, Senior Project Manager to be embedded within a key account operating in a high-security environment. The role leads the account's project management function, taking ownership of the full project lifecycle – from inception and feasibility through to delivery, handover and completion.

Reporting to the Account Manager, the Senior Project Manager acts as a senior point of liaison for the client, drives robust monthly reporting and governance, and provides leadership, line management and mentoring to a growing team of project professionals. Success in the role depends on strong delivery discipline, commercial awareness and the discretion and compliance required to operate within a secure setting.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion, on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.
  • Own project scoping, planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk management and change control across the account portfolio.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance, ensuring value for money and accurate cost control.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure work is delivered in line with MITIE and client governance standards.

Account Project Management Function

  • Lead and continuously improve the project management function across the account, embedding consistent processes, tools and best practice.
  • Provide assurance on project controls, methodology and delivery standards for all projects within the account.
  • Identify opportunities for additional project works and support the account's growth and pipeline.

Client Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a senior point of contact for the client on all project matters, building trusted, long-term relationships.
    • Engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders across the client, MITIE and the supply chain.
    • Communicate project progress, risks and decisions clearly and proactively to all levels, including senior leadership.

    Reporting & Governance

    • Produce and present accurate monthly project reporting covering progress, financials, risk, safety and KPIs.
    • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, MITIE policies and client-specific security and governance requirements.

    Leadership, Line Management & Mentoring

    • Provide day-to-day line management for project managers and project support staff, including objective-setting, performance reviews and development.
    • Coach and mentor team members to raise capability, consistency and professional standards across the function.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture aligned to MITIE's values.

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Champion a zero-harm culture, ensuring all projects are delivered safely and in line with CDM and relevant HSE requirements.
    • Ensure safe systems of work, method statements and risk assessments are in place and adhered to.
    • Uphold the security protocols, behaviours and confidentiality demanded by a high-security working environment.
