ROLE: Senior Engineering Manager – Electrical
LOCATION: Liverpool
CONTRACT: Full Time

At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager – Electrical who will provide strategic leadership across estates and engineering services, ensuring statutory, contractual, and technical compliance within a complex healthcare PFI environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering estates and engineering services.
  • Maintain full compliance with PFI contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and HTMs/HBNs, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Act as Lead Authorised Person for relevant disciplines, ensuring strict adherence to safe systems of work.
  • Provide specialist technical expertise and professional engineering advice to senior leadership across Mitie.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, lifecycle programmes, PPM systems, risk management plans, and asset data programmes.
  • Lead inspections, specialist surveys, lifecycle planning, budgeting, and option appraisals.
  • Participate in the Estates on‑call rota, providing senior leadership and emergency technical decision‑making.
  • Contribute to Plan Thrive social value commitments and promote a positive, inclusive culture aligned with Mitie values.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

  • Relevant engineering or FM qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, IWFM or equivalent).
  • Proven senior technical leadership experience within FM or healthcare environments (HTM 01–08).
  • Authorised Person (AP) status (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, statutory compliance, and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience managing audits, NCRs, compliance action plans, and technical risk mitigation.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, inclusion, and social value delivery.

What's in it for you?

  • A senior leadership role within the UK's leading FM and professional services provider.
  • Life cover up to 4× salary, enhanced pension contributions, save‑as‑you‑earn scheme, and the Mitie Matching Share Plan (with potential free shares).
  • Extensive leadership development, technical training, and structured career progression.

Additional Requirement – SARC DNA Sample

This role may require regular entry to high‑risk or forensically clean areas of the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at Rainbow.
To support Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust in maintaining UKAS forensic standards, the successful candidate will be required to provide a DNA sample for inclusion on the Staff Elimination Database. This is solely to eliminate staff DNA from any forensic samples processed at the SARC.

Further information, including how your data will be handled, will be provided during the application process.
