At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day.  This is an exciting opportunity for an ER professional who is passionate about delivering expert advice, resolving complex workplace issues and helping managers navigate employee relations matters with confidence. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Employee Relations expert, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice on complex, sensitive and high-risk cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and organisational change matters.
  • Provide expert guidance to managers and stakeholders, ensuring employee relations issues are managed fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation, company policy and best practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying case trends, root causes and opportunities to reduce risk, ensuring lessons learned are embedded across the business.
  • Coach and support managers through Employee Relations processes, building confidence and capability in managing people matters effectively and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Develop, review and maintain Employee Relations policies, procedures and guidance, ensuring a legally compliant and consistent approach across the organisation.
  • Share Employee Relations expertise across the team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge-sharing activities, helping to strengthen ER capability and best practice.
  • Deliver an exceptional stakeholder experience by providing responsive, professional and solutions-focused Employee Relations support at all levels of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven Employee Relations experience, managing complex cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and organisational change matters.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based ER advice.
  • Experience influencing and coaching managers and senior stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Commercially minded, balancing legal compliance with business needs.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations confidently.
  • Ability to identify ER trends and recommend practical solutions to improve consistency and reduce risk.
  • CIPD Level 5 desirable (or willingness to work towards) and confident using Microsoft Office applications.

What's in it for you?

  • Hybrid working arrangement with a collaborative and supportive People Team.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of employee relations cases across both public and private sector contracts.
  • Opportunities for professional development and further CIPD study support.
