Security Officer

📍 Location: Wokingham and Reading area, Berkshire.

💷 Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour.

🕒 Shifts: 12-hour shifts (days & nights), 4 on / 4 off rotation including weekends and Bank Holidays.

About the Role

We are looking for professional, reliable, and motivated Security Officers to join our team supporting a high-profile client within the Wokingham and Reading area.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will play a key role in protecting people, property, and critical infrastructure.

You will be part of a professional security team delivering a high standard of service in line with client expectations and site Assignment Instructions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Controlling access and egress to site, ensuring all visitors, staff, and contractors are correctly authorised
• Conducting regular patrols of the site to deter and detect security risks
• Monitoring systems including CCTV and access control systems
• Responding to incidents, emergencies, and alarms in a calm and professional manner
• Maintaining accurate records, including incident reports and daily logs
• Providing a high level of customer service to all site users
• Ensuring compliance with all site procedures, Assignment Instructions, and legal requirements
• Supporting health & safety by identifying and reporting hazards

What We're Looking For

• A valid SIA License, Security Guarding or Door Supervisor is required.
• An SIA CCTV licence is desirable – training provided for the right candidate.
• Previous security experience (preferred but not essential for the right candidate)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant
• Calm and professional approach under pressure
• Good IT skills (email, reporting systems, access control platforms)
• A flexible approach to working shifts
• A full 5-year checkable work history
• SC Clearance (desirable or willingness to obtain)
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
