Security Officer / Front of House Ambassador

Location: Bristol (Lakeview / Bristol Sites)

Employment Type: Full Time / Relief / (Subject to Business Requirements)

Role Overview

We are seeking a professional, customer-focused, and highly motivated Security Officer / Front of House Ambassador to join our team in Bristol. This role combines exceptional customer service with a proactive approach to safety and security, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for colleagues, customers, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.

As the face of both Mitie and our client, you will demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer care while promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering outstanding service, maintaining a strong security presence, and embodying the shared values of trust, care, teamwork, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

  • Conduct internal and external patrols of the premises in accordance with assignment instructions.
  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, anti-social behaviour, and security breaches.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security technologies.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
  • Record, investigate, and report all incidents accurately through company reporting systems.
  • Support emergency procedures including evacuation, fire response, and business continuity arrangements.
  • Liaise with emergency services and support agencies when required.
  • Ensure compliance with site security procedures and client requirements.
  • Front of House & Customer Service
  • Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming experience for all visitors and colleagues.
  • Act as the first point of contact for guests, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage visitor registration and access procedures efficiently and courteously.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining security standards.
  • Assist with wayfinding and provide information about local facilities and services.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues through proactive engagement.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and professionalism at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Support and promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Identify and report hazards, defects, near misses, and unsafe practices.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of site assignment instructions and emergency response plans.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding people, property, and assets.
  • Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and client representatives.
  • Share information effectively during handovers and briefings.
  • Support operational requirements across multiple locations when required.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve service delivery and customer experience.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance that reflects company standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Good observation and decision-making skills.
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT literacy, including report writing and email systems.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in commercial, corporate, retail, or front-of-house security.
  • CCTV Licence.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience using access control and CCTV systems.
  • Knowledge of incident management and emergency response procedures.
