Retail Security Officer

Location: LIDL Bromsgrove
Hours: 5 days a week including weekend work 
Pay: Competitive Rate

About the Role

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Retail Security Officer to join our team at LIDL Bromsgrove. This is a key role in maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for customers, colleagues, and visitors while protecting company assets and reducing losses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a visible security presence, preventing theft and anti-social behaviour, responding to incidents, and supporting the store team in providing an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining a professional and visible presence throughout the store.
• Deterring theft, stock loss, and anti-social behaviour.
• Conducting regular patrols of the store and surrounding areas.
• Responding effectively to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Producing accurate and detailed incident reports.
• Working closely with store management and colleagues to support day-to-day operations.
• Delivering excellent customer service and assisting customers when required.
• Monitoring security systems and CCTV in accordance with company procedures.
• Escalating issues and concerns appropriately.

Essential Requirements

• Previous security experience within a retail environment.
• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
• Strong understanding of retail loss prevention and conflict management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and confident approach to customer interaction.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Strong observation skills with attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.

Technical Skills

The successful candidate must be comfortable using technology and digital reporting systems, including:

• Completing incident reports using online reporting platforms.
• Using mobile devices, tablets, and security applications.
• Recording accurate evidence and report details electronically.
• Managing emails and communicating via digital systems.
• Following company procedures for documentation and compliance reporting.
