Mitie is recruiting Relief Security Officers to support an exciting new contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is a great opportunity to join a professional team protecting key public service sites and supporting local communities.
You'll be a visible presence on site, ensuring staff and visitors feel safe, while delivering excellent customer service and responding professionally to any incidents.
This role is ideal for a flexible, mobile security professional who enjoys variety and working across multiple locations.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property
Conduct regular site patrols and identify potential risks
Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity
Liaise with local emergency services when required
Carry out routine security checks and complete incident reports
Provide a welcoming, professional presence at all times
Assist staff and visitors with security-related queries
Handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism
Identify and report hazards or security risks immediately
Take proactive steps to prevent disruption, loss, or damage
Keep accurate logs and incident records
Follow all Mitie and DWP policies, procedures, and regulations
Essential:
Valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) licence
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
Flexibility to travel across regional sites
Desirable:
Previous security experience
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable, professional, and calm under pressure
Stable weekday shifts with occasional Saturdays
Work on a high-profile government contract
