Shift Pattern Description: 2 weekly- morning/ afternoon

Main Duties

In the role of Porter/Handyman, you will support the delivery, physical set-up, and takedown of all furniture and equipment required for meetings and events, including adjusting meeting rooms and furniture layouts to meet user requirements. You will carry out duties allocated through the helpdesk in a timely manner and assist in maintaining a clean and tidy site, ensuring that building exteriors are kept clean and that pathways remain clear and well maintained. The role involves receiving deliveries of heavy or large loads and distributing items as required, as well as undertaking basic maintenance tasks across the site, including but not limited to minor repairs, minor plumbing work, painting, and decorating. You will be expected to observe local security measures in line with client policies and demonstrate flexibility in work patterns, systems, and locations to consistently meet client standards. Additional responsibilities include completing safety walks, promptly reporting any concerns to the Facilities Manager, and proactively carrying out all duties while highlighting potential areas for improvement to the Facilities Manager. You will also be required to adhere to any reasonable management requests from your line manager or client contact. Please note that candidates must be British Nationals or naturalised UK citizens, must not have any previous convictions, and must be willing to undergo an intrusive security clearance process.

We are looking for candidates who ideally have previous experience working in a similar role or environment and are experienced in lifting and handling furniture and equipment. You should be customer service‑oriented, a strong team player, and bring an energized attitude to your work. The role requires you to be a clear and confident communicator, always well groomed and professional in appearance. You must also be hands‑on, adaptable, and willing to learn and take on new tasks as required.
