Main Duties
1. Carry out new works and planned/response maintenance on various plant and systems including domestic plumbing services, Local Exhaust Ventilation, Mechanical Ventilation, Medium Temperature Hot Water, Steam and Compressed Air.
2. Installation of pumps, valves and pipe work on various services/systems.
3. Produce a quality end product first time with no re-work required.
4. Qualify for entry in Skilled Persons Register.
5. Organise work to minimise lost time, or non productive time.
6. Accurately record details of repairs and complete labour records. Ensure overtime sheets are completed in a timely manner and is sanctioned and handed to the Admin before work commences.
7. Respond to emergency call outs as and when required as part of the response duty roster
8. Required to occasionally work at the remote radar sites and MOD sites.
9. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager, or Management team.
Education /
Qualifications /
Training
Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
Completed and passed an approved apprenticeship or attained a minimum of an NVQ level 2 in an appropriate discipline.
Knowledge &
Experience
Familiar with all types of oil burning plant and generally have a strong mechanical background.
Working knowledge of compressors, compressed air systems, mechanical doors, lift ramps, kitchen equipment, and steam boilers.
Must be able to carry out new works from a written specification with minimum supervision.
Good working knowledge of H&S legislation.

Full driving license.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
