Looking to move roles but not leaving the Mitie family?

Why not share your experience with others about life at Mitie?

Better places, thriving communities.

Salary: £42,000-£45,000
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Location: Home-based, with UK travel as required
Future opportunity: Potential permanent opportunities following the fixed-term period

The Role

We're looking for an organised, proactive Mobilisation Manager to join our experienced UK Mobilisation Team, helping turn newly awarded contracts into well-planned and successfully delivered services.

You'll coordinate mobilisation activity from contract award through to operational handover, working with clients, operational teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders. You'll manage mobilisation plans, track key actions and milestones, identify risks and issues, and help keep multiple workstreams moving in the right direction.

This is a fast-paced role with plenty of variety, so you'll need to be comfortable managing changing priorities, maintaining control of the detail and bringing people together to get things done.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and manage mobilisation plans, milestones, actions and dependencies.
  • Coordinate activity across multiple workstreams and mobilisations.
  • Track progress, risks and issues, escalating concerns where required.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, operational teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and support mobilisation meetings, ensuring actions are captured and followed through.
  • Prepare clear progress updates, reports and readiness information.
  • Maintain accurate mobilisation documentation, trackers and governance.
  • Translate contractual and operational requirements into clear, trackable mobilisation actions.
  • Support key mobilisation milestones, go-live readiness and handover into business-as-usual operations.
  • Ensure health & safety, compliance, information security and contractual requirements are considered throughout mobilisation.
  • Identify practical solutions to issues and opportunities to improve how mobilisations are delivered.

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in how you work than whether you already have “Project Manager” on your CV.

You'll be someone who:

  • Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Takes ownership and follows actions through to completion.
  • Can manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
  • Communicates confidently with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Is comfortable coordinating people who may not report directly to you.
  • Can work effectively with plans, trackers, reports and detailed information.
  • Is proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable raising risks or concerns.
  • Remains calm and organised when priorities change.
  • Is comfortable working independently from home and travelling across the UK when required.

Your Background

Previous mobilisation or project management experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential.

We'd also welcome applications from people with transferable experience in:

  • Operations or service delivery
  • Project or PMO support
  • Facilities management or outsourced services
  • Coordination or planning
  • Account or customer management
  • Change or transition roles

Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project or similar planning tools would be useful. Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM are desirable but not essential.

Interested?

If you already have mobilisation or project experience, we'd love to hear from you. Equally, if you've developed strong organisation, coordination and stakeholder-management skills in another fast-moving environment and are ready for your next step, we'd encourage you to apply.

You don't need to tick every box. We're looking for capable, organised people with the right approach who can bring structure, build relationships and keep complex activity moving.
