Join Mitie, a leader in facilities management and infrastructure support, and play a vital role in UK Defence operations. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Project Manager (Electrical or Mechanical) to join our team in The Falkland Islands delivering essential services in support of UK Armed Forces operations. 

Why This Role Matters  

You'll be part of a mission-critical team maintaining and developing Defence infrastructure and your skills will directly support UK Defence operations in a high-profile, operational setting.   

The Role  

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Develop and manage detailed project programmes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare scopes of work, tender documentation, and administer contracts in line with project requirements.
  • Coordinate contractors, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor progress and performance, providing accurate reports, updates, and recommendations to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with construction regulations, health and safety legislation, and industry best practice.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, identify risks, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Produce detailed scopes of work and drawings using CAD.
  • Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors, and specialist services.
  • Advise on sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost-effective construction solutions.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead risk management activities, identifying and mitigating potential issues early.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and contribute to business process development.

 

What You'll Bring  

  • Experience in Mechanical or Electrical project delivery in commercial, residential, or public sector environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and contract management.
  • Expertise in building services, mechanical, and electrical systems (HVAC, lighting, power).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, confident in dealing with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in project management software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Degree in Construction Management or Building Services/Engineering.
  • Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, APM, CIBSE) or working towards.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with MOD estates and JSP requirements.
  • Experience in designing and producing scopes of work, with ability to review technical drawings thoroughly.
