Job objectives and responsibilities

 

·       Contribute to the success of the contract by delivering effective training and supporting ongoing colleague development.

·       Assist in the development of the contract's training strategy, supporting the creation of training materials and a structured delivery plan.

·       Work in collaboration with the Mobile Team Leader (MTL) team to ensure colleagues receive the training necessary to deliver outstanding service to clients and their customers.

·       Contribute to the design and delivery of innovative training products tailored to contract-specific needs.

·       Conduct regular evaluations of training effectiveness and report on key performance metrics within the area of responsibility.

·       Support the design and implementation of both officer and management development programmes.

·       Contribute to the execution of a long-term training strategy aligned with business and contract objectives.

·       Assist in the enhancement and delivery of an officer evaluation process to support continuous improvement.

·       Champion a culture of learning and development by promoting training initiatives and measuring their impact across your area.

·       Deliver targeted training sessions as required to maximise learning outcomes and drive operational excellence.

·       Collaborate with the Strategic Account Director to ensure the provision of industry-leading learning and development opportunities for all colleagues.

 

Main duties

 

To deliver or exceed set targets by taking full ownership and accountability for training delivery and development activities, including:

Support the Mobile Team Leader population in the execution of the accounts training strategy.
Collaborate with MTL's to deliver high-quality, engaging training experiences to all officers within your area of responsibility.
Partner with peers and the Strategic Account Director to identify training needs and development opportunities across the contract.
Deliver "Train the Trainer" sessions to all MTLs within the contract for the effective rollout of new training products.
Work closely with the Head of Operations and Regional Managers to identify and maintain the highest level of compliance.
Support MTLs in providing consistent and effective induction training for all new security officers.
Assist Head of Operations, and Regional Managers in onboarding and inducting all new Operations Managers and MTL's.
Gather and evaluate feedback on training delivery across the contract, identifying areas for improvement.
Collaborate with Operations Managers to coach and develop the MTL team, ensuring they reach their full potential through ongoing learning and development.
Work with the Head of Operations and Regional Managers to ensure all new training initiatives are implemented to the required standards and within defined timescales
Design and deliver industry-leading colleague development programme across the contract.
Lead the implementation and management of Physical Intervention training across the contract, including the coordination of refresher training.
Design and execute the SIA CCTV training plan for the account, supporting officer development and licensing compliance.
Support colleagues undertaking apprenticeships outside with the contract, helping them achieve optimal outcomes.
Conduct regular officer assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training and ensure service delivery standards are met; implement corrective actions where necessary.
Escalate training issues or concerns to the appropriate Regional Manager, Head of Operations or Strategic Account Director in a timely manner.
Track and report on training delivery and completion in alignment with contract standards and deadlines.
Deliver training using a variety of instructional styles to accommodate different learning preferences and ensure knowledge retention.
Collaborate with logistics ALS Manager to introduce and support the expansion of training initiatives within the logistics segment of the contract.

 

Person Specification

 

·        Possession of a recognised training qualification is desirable; if not currently held, a willingness to work towards achieving this is essential.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.

·        Confident working with senior leadership teams across various business functions.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to create professional documents, presentations, and reports.

·        Strong capability in utilising technology to manage, deliver, and enhance development initiatives.

·        Able to adapt communication style effectively to suit a variety of audiences and learning needs.

·        Passionate about training and development, with a commitment to helping colleagues reach their full potential.

·        Willing and able to travel across the contract as required by the role.

·        High attention to detail in both daily responsibilities and record-keeping practices.

·        Excellent organisational skills, with strong time and self-management abilities.

·        Adaptable and resilient, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

·        Skilled in writing high-quality, structured reports to a professional standard.

·        Confident in delivering engaging and impactful presentations to diverse audiences.

·        A sound understanding of both retail and logistics security roles and the unique operational environments they operate within.

·        Must hold a valid SIA licence

·        Must hold a valid UK drivers' licence
