HVAC and BMS Manager

Newcastle | Full-time, Monday–Friday

We're looking for an HVAC and BMS Manager to lead engineering services across a complex healthcare environment, ensuring safe, efficient delivery of maintenance and compliance activities. You'll play a key role in managing teams, contractors, and systems that keep critical facilities operating at the highest standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team delivering HVAC, BMS, and wider engineering maintenance services in line with PFI contracts and statutory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with HTMs/HBNs and safe systems of work, acting as Authorised Person where required
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), lifecycle planning, and engineering inspections across site
  • Manage subcontractors, contracts, and service delivery to ensure quality, value for money, and operational continuity
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, NHS clients, and external bodies, communicating complex technical information effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC discipline
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within facilities management or similar environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering compliance, statutory requirements, and safe systems of work

  • Experience within healthcare or complex environments (HTM knowledge desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage workforce development
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and complex engineering documentation
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
