Salary:  17,056

Looking for a fresh start, a new challenge, or the chance to build skills that make a real difference? Whether you're returning to work, exploring a second career, or ready to try something new – this could be the start of something brilliant.

At Mitie, we do more than manage buildings – we create better places for people to live, work, and thrive. From offices and universities to hospitals and heritage sites, our teams help keep spaces safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. We're proud to partner with the Scottish Government, delivering essential services to over 70 sites across the country – including research centres, Marine Scotland buildings, and the First Minister's residence. Joining Mitie means being part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusion. We'll help you grow your career while supporting thriving communities and making a real impact every day.

The Role

As a Helpdesk Administration Apprentice, you'll be a key member of our Service Desk team, providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth coordination of facilities services across our contracts.

This is a fast-paced, organised, and detail-driven role where your focus will be on keeping information accurate, actions tracked, and communication flowing between teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

You'll gain hands-on experience in business administration while developing the skills needed to build a strong career in operational support.

You'll learn to:

  • Accurately log, update, and maintain records across internal systems (including CAFM platforms such as Maximo)
  • Manage shared inboxes, ensuring requests are reviewed, prioritised, and actioned in a timely way
  • Support the coordination of work by raising, tracking, and updating jobs and service requests
  • Process and prepare key administrative documents including purchase orders, quotations, and contract paperwork
  • Maintain clear and accurate records relating to job progress, compliance, and contractor activity
  • Support reporting activities by gathering data and preparing basic management information
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to support smooth service delivery

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, organisation, and working behind the scenes to keep everything running efficiently.

Your Apprenticeship

You'll be enrolled onto a SCQF Level 6 Business Administration Apprenticeship, delivered with full support from a dedicated training provider.

You'll develop key skills including:

  • Business administration and coordination
  • Professional communication
  • Data management and systems use
  • Organisation, planning, and prioritisation

You'll receive structured learning, one-to-one support, and regular check-ins to help you grow in confidence and capability throughout your apprenticeship.

Could you be our next Apprentice?

We're searching for ambitious, driven individuals who are excited about learning and ready to take on new challenges. To succeed as a Mitie apprentice, you'll need:

  • A keen interest in your chosen field.
  • The ability to think critically and find solutions.
  • Dedication to completing your apprenticeship and growing with Mitie.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4-9 or equivalent) or Scottish National 5 certificates (Grade A-C). Certificates must be provided at the interview stage.

No prior experience? No problem! If you're enthusiastic and ready to learn, we'll give you all the tools you need to succeed.
