Your Role

You'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that social value is not only promised but truly delivered across our contracts and our business. Reporting to our Group Director of Social Value, within our Social Value Team, here's what you'll be doing:

  • Leading our Social Value contract managers: Guide a talented team of Social Value (SV) contract managers, ensuring SV commitments are fully integrated and consistently delivered across our contracts. Support SV contract managers to troubleshoot issues, implementing solutions at Group level so Social Value is embedded into our day-to-day operations.
  • Tracking & Reporting Commitment delivery: Develop and implement processes for tracking, monitoring, risk managing, and reporting on Social Value commitments and outcomes. Ensure we meet our goals and deliver on our promises, providing critical insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating for Success: Work closely with contract teams, customers, the broader Social Value Team, and other stakeholders to align contract-specific social value initiatives with the broader strategic goals of the business. Building strong relationships and ensuring everyone is working toward the same objectives will be central to your success.
  • Standardisation & Recruitment: Lead in standardising the recruitment of SV contract managers, ensuring the right talent is in place to drive delivery. Champion the professional development of your team, supporting them to grow and thrive in their roles.
  • Scaling Best Practices: Identify best practices and scale them across the business, creating central delivery resources and templates that streamline our approach and maximize impact.
  • Social Value Cost Management Advisory: Advise on the management of social value costs, supporting SV contract managers to ensure SV commitments are effectively and efficiently budgeted, resourced, and delivered, driving ROI and SROI.
  • Bid coaching and advisory: Provide expert input and advice to our sales and bidding teams, drawing on your SV knowledge to help shape winning bids.

Location & Working Hours

At Mitie, we have lots of roles with the opportunity to work flexibly. This role benefits from hybrid working arrangements, with 1-2 days on average per week in a Mitie office (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Northampton, Bristol) and some travel to our London HQ.   • Proven programme management experience: Experience leading teams to successfully deliver social value commitments across contracts. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can balance the demands of multiple projects while ensuring delivery.
  • Skilled in Social Value: In-depth knowledge of social value principles, policies, and best practices, with the ability to turn theory into measurable, impactful outcomes.
  • Collaborative & Influential: You know how to work with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior leadership and internal teams to clients and community partners. Building strong relationships and aligning diverse teams around common goals comes naturally to you.
  • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to juggle various initiatives, monitor progress, and report on outcomes. Whether it's tracking commitments, managing costs, or ensuring compliance, you have a knack for keeping everything on track.
  • Impact-Driven: Focused on making a real, measurable difference. You understand how to capture and report impact effectively, ensuring that all SV initiatives lead to lasting, positive change.
  • Bid coaching and advisory: Provide expert input and advice to our sales and bidding teams, drawing on your SV knowledge from contract delivery to help shape winning bids.
