Operation and driving of core plant machinery as required to carry out various grounds maintenance tasks.
Main Duties
1. Operate various plant and machinery safely, as and when required.
2. Assist in the day to day running of grounds maintenance jobs.
3. Assist in any repairs and maintenance works on various facilities and roads as and when required.
4. Ensure all plant and machinery is maintained in a clean, tidy, and safe manner.
5. Ensure progress is maintained for all works under the guidance of your supervisor. Document and record any inspections, changes, and work delays, ensuring any unforeseen changes are bought to your supervisor's attention.
6. Ensure that all works/projects under your responsibility are carried out in accordance with Mitie and MOD Processes.
7. Produce a quality end product first time with no re-work required.
8. Ensure materials for works are fully checked for suitability and are correctly booked in and out of stores (reporting any defects or damage).
9. Ensure that times sheets are completed accurately (correct job Nr's are entered), all overtime is sanctioned and labour records are submitted on the day required.
10. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager or the Management team.
Education /Qualifications /Training
Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
Full driving Licence
POC Qualification
CITB Health and Safety · IOSH Working Safely
Desireable
To have attained, or be working towards an NVQ or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
C- Category licence
Previous experience in the Falkland Islands or working abroad.
Experience of construction and concreting
Experience of patchwork repairs on tarred surfaces.
Knowledge & Experience
Experience with recognised H&S procedure
Skills & Abilities
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Experience of working on grounds maintenance
Personal Qualities
Enthusiastic and flexible approach
Self motivated team member with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
