At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day.  We are currently seeking an FLT/Counterbalance Operative to join our Distribution and Logistics team, supporting warehouse operations across a busy pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional with Counterbalance or High Reach Forklift Truck experience who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of service. Please note, due to the production and operations on site, those with a Penicillin allergy won't be successful.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the efficient movement, storage and distribution of raw materials, intermediates and finished products across multiple warehouse and production locations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively, including Counterbalance and High Reach Forklift Trucks, ride-on and manual pallet trucks, trailer tow tractors and pallet inverters.
  • Ensure products are received, stored, loaded and dispatched in accordance with operational requirements and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate standards of housekeeping across warehouse and logistics areas.
  • Manage material handling activities in line with GSK operating procedures and standard working practices.
  • Report equipment defects, damage and maintenance requirements promptly to minimise operational disruption.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, safety concerns and service issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Support shift cover requirements during periods of holiday or sickness absence.
  • Participate fully in toolbox talks, training programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and/or High Reach Forklift Truck experience.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and manual handling practices.
  • Ability to work effectively within a regulated and process-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below-defined requirements for the role:

  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and/or proven High Reach Forklift Truck experience.
  • Ability to work a rotating 4 on 2 off shift pattern.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to use warehouse systems and complete operational paperwork accurately.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities.
