As an EV Electrical Site Manager, you will manage all aspects of the construction, installation of new transformers, switchgear, feeder pillars, comms systems and cabling to allow the installation of EV equipment. Also managing the testing and commissioning of the electrical installation and completion of all relevant certificates and paperwork.

 

Reporting to EV Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for delivering these projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for liaising with and coordinating technical staff, DNO's, IDNO's, and sub-contractors to meet the project programme and the client's specifications. You will monitor and forecast project performance and ultimately control the overall site project to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

Key responsibilities

 

EV Electrical Site Manages are responsible for delivering ALL aspects of the electrical project; on time, on budget, and to client's expectations. There is support in place so that elements such as design, Section 50's, civils, etc are undertaken by other internal or external parties however, the ultimate responsibility lies with the EV Electrical Site Manager to proactively manage ALL aspects of the project through to completion.

 

      Manage projects and undertake appropriate internal and external reporting to ensure all relevant parties are kept up to date on progress

      Work with the Design teams to ensure designs fully meet client requirements.

      Engage with PM's to secure feedback on draft designs to ensure timely submission for approval.

      Liaise with and coordinate all parties to ensure timely planning and delivery of the project on site – and respond to PM's enquiries in a timely and courteous manner.

      Deliver to planned programmes of work through engagement with 3rd Parties, Site Staff and PM's and achieve agreed milestones, dates, and deliverables – and ensure these are updated throughout project changes to remain current

      Maintain financial awareness of a project (including variations) throughout delivery – and keep accurate records of progress against budget.

      Request and forecast required labour, with in defined budgets, to deliver the project (including relevant third-party requirements such as civils, traffic management, and commissioning)

      Prepare relevant, detailed work instructions for all elements of installation works, and ensure that teams (whether internal or external) are fully briefed on expectations and timescales.

      Procure and budget for the materials and equipment required to deliver the project installation

      Carry out audits as required on both site activities and third-party suppliers – and ensure any non-conformances are raised, recorded, and mitigated

      Ensure all off site works in the Public Highway are carried out in a safe manor and comply with NRSWA and HAUC Specifications

      Liaise with other staff and clients to ensure that all targets and key milestones are met – and ensure any deviations are raised and addressed with all parties and report to the project PM

      Ensure all works are carried out to DNO and IDNO specifications, to ensure audits are successfully passed and final connections can take place.

      Undertake final quality audits of all installation works

      Ensure all installation documentation is completed accurately and correctly by the installation teams and filed into contract folders ready for submission by the PM to the DNO/IDNO as required

      Ensure all activities undertaken by yourself, and the installation teams meet the correct company procedures, policies, and documentation

      Upselling on existing sites – identifying what additional works could we undertake for a client/developer and report to project PM helping to secure these opportunities.

      Be a Rock ambassador – your performance, manner, and approach can help with securing repeat business – on site you are the face of Rock.

      Continuously monitor the project performance and ultimately control the overall project to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

      Work with the wider Rock team to recommend continuous improvements in quality and process

      Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health, Safety & Quality at all time as well as manage project related Health & Safety

     Photographs of the installation throughout project duration for use in future case studies

      Preform site inductions of all operatives, visitors and 3rd parties that come to site

      Record and check all operatives' competencies and ensure only the correct authorised and competent operatives are preforming tasks assigned to them

      Issue, deliver and record toolbox talks to all site staff on a weekly basis

      Perform and record all site checks, audits on a daily, weekly and monthly

      Complete accident investigation reports

      Preform fire alarm checks and record findings

      Keep accurate records of site attendance and ensure visitor signing/out up to date and correct.

      Report any theft to EV Delivery Manager, PM and local authorities and record crime number

      Report and record any absences on site directly to the EV Delivery Manager

      Plan, Schedule, Issue tasks to site operatives and ensure all RAMS have been issued, read, signed and understood

Essential Education / Certification

 

C&G 2356-99 or 2330 level 3 (or equivalent)

SSSTS or SMSTS Qualification (or equivalent)

CSCS Qualification (or equivalent)

Manual Handling certificate

Emergency First Aid at Work certificate

IOSH Certificate in managing Health and Safety (or equivalent)

Driver's Licence

 

Desirable Education / Certification

Electrical Installation NVQ level 3.

DNO Authorisations for access

DNO Authorisations for Holding Permits

 

Essential Skills

Strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact it will have on project delivery
