Job Overview

To carry out maintenance, repairs, project works to all electrical services within the MOD Estate, visiting ships and externally (outside MOD Estate) to third party contractors.  

 

Main Duties

 

 

Report daily at Foreman's office pick up daily work and ensuring these are signed by the client/customer on completion of works.

 

To carry out the maintenance, repairs and project work of all electrical systems, inclusive of sewage plants, to the highest of standards.

 

Testing and inspection of Electrical systems in accordance with BS7671

 

Maintaining good records of all testing and inspections.

 

Undertake the care and Maintenance of all equipment and plant provided to carry out tasks within your competence, incl personal PPE.

 

Ensure all equipment and plant are certified for use.

 

Attend emergency calls as is required, on a make safe basis.

 

Undertake the running and maintenance of the Electrical systems, in accordance with requirement and competence as requested by your Foreman.

 

Ensure completion of all works, tasks, and duties allocated to you within given time limits.

 

Liaise with your Foreman on your findings, to allow good record keeping.

 

Proper and correct use of radio, and mobile communications.

 

Report estate non-compliances (within the electrical discipline) efficiently to your supervisors and compliance Tech Officer for immediate escalation to the client and stakeholders.

 

Comply with all H&S requirements.

 

Provide assistance in all other required areas of the contract, where deemed competent.

 

Ad hoc duties as required, this job description is not mutually exclusive.

 

Participate in ongoing training to maintain business requirements.

 

Participate in On Call Roster to maintain business requirements.

 

Provide own basic tools.

 

Provide information to assist in maintaining stock levels.

 

Attend meetings, and provide Technical input as is requested.

 

 

If required must be willing and available to attend training in UK.

 

Use and care of company vehicle in accordance with Mitie vehicle policy.

 

 

Responsibilities will vary according to the requirements of the business.

 

 

 

 

 

What we are looking for

Specific qualifications/skills required:

Recognised Apprenticeship

BS 7671, 18th edition IEE Regs

City and Guilds Electrical, or equivalent.

Valid B driving license

 

Experience required

 

 

Other desirable skills/experience:

Periodic electrical testing and inspection
