Job Overview
To carryout & support operations control room monitoring of the Critical site infrastructure and escalate issues effectively.
Provide support & response with first line Break Down response, to infrastructure plant, equipment and systems.
Main Duties
· Monitor and control the operation of cooling, power, and other critical systems in accordance with defined standards
· Emergency Response, executing emergency repairs of equipment and systems
· Perform rounds and inspections to monitor equipment health
· Analyse facility data for trends and create action plans for optimization
· Develop and/or adopt clear operations procedures, maintain accurate logs, and use Work Notification (WN) systems
· Regularly clean facility equipment and safely handle chemicals
· A positive and self-motivated individual able to work as part of a team or as an individual.
· To take ownership of issues that may arise & escalate them effectively.
· Good communication with the other technical engineers and specialist sub-contractors.
· To assist with Planned Preventative Maintenance activities and first line Break Down response, to infrastructure plant, equipment and systems.
· To support visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with aspects of the PPM or reactive schedules
· To participate in the smooth handover process to the ‘on coming' Shift Team. Ensure all logs/records be correctly recorded.
· Create adhoc reports utilising system information on various topics.
What we are looking for
· Previous experience working in data centre and/or critical environments (min 1 year)
· Technically focused, fault diagnostic skills and organised
· Computer literacy, written, good oral communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to prioritise workload within tight deadlines and to a high standard
· Adjust rapidly and effectively to changes in work demands or business needs
· Effective communication skills to all levels of management
· Good understanding of BMS/PMS systems
· Qualification in building services mechanical and electrical engineering to a minimum of City & Guilds
· 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers registration
· A good working knowledge of building services trades – UPS, Diesel Generators, Plumbing, HVAC systems and Refrigeration
· Computer literate with excellent I.T. skills
· Knowledge and awareness of CAFM systems and their use
· To be a great communicators and proficient problem-solver
· Ability to work calmly under pressure
· Comfortable with technology and able to quickly learn new systems
· Open, honest and trustworthy
· Able to produce work of an excellent standard
· Be Self-motivated
· Ability to make decisions and use own initiative
· Able to work as part of a team but also independently if required
