Critical Systems Lead Shift Engineer
Wokingham – Full time

We're looking for a Critical Systems Lead Shift Engineer who will operate and maintain critical national infrastructure systems across the NESO estate, ensuring resilience, compliance, and continuity of essential services.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Support 24/7 critical services, ensuring no unplanned downtime.
  • Complete and maintain weekly data including capacity reports and generator logs.
  • Work normal hours while providing shift cover when required.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of BS 7671 electrical installation and testing requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, lighting, AC/refrigeration, LV infrastructure, UPS systems, generators, and associated distribution equipment.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

  • Time‑served electrical apprenticeship.
  • Up‑to‑date BS 7671 wiring regulations qualification.
  • Familiarity with LPHW (Low Pressure Hot Water) systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What we're looking for (Desirable):

  • HNC in Building Services or related discipline.
  • C&G 2391 Testing & Inspection.
  • Experience with Trend 963 or equivalent BMS platforms.
  • IOSH Health & Safety certification.
  • HV/LV Authorised Person status.
  • Confined Spaces AP certification.
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 (Legionella management).
