ROLE: Compliance & Asset Manager

Hours: 40-hour, M-F

Location: Bristol

At Mitie, we're looking for an experienced Compliance & Asset Manager to support the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of facilities management services across our portfolio. This role is responsible for overseeing asset management, statutory compliance, lifecycle planning, and quality assurance activities while supporting operational teams in maintaining the highest standards of safety and service delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Compliance & Asset Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining accurate asset data within CAFM systems, ensuring records remain compliant, current, and auditable.
  • Providing advice and guidance to operational teams on statutory compliance, asset management, and legislative requirements.
  • Monitoring asset condition, lifecycle requirements, and replacement programmes across the portfolio.
  • Supporting project teams with lifecycle planning and asset investment reports.
  • Aligning preventative maintenance requirements and supporting maintenance planning in line with SFG20 standards.
  • Reviewing, validating, and approving updates within Maximo or equivalent CAFM systems.
  • Conducting technical and compliance audits and producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Supporting health, safety, environmental, and quality management activities across the contract.
  • Identifying compliance risks and implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Developing and supporting compliance training programmes and awareness initiatives.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring third-party suppliers maintain compliance standards.
  • Ensuring all statutory certificates, documentation, and compliance records are maintained and readily accessible.
  • Providing expert guidance at client meetings, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Supporting the development of a strong compliance and safety culture across the contract.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable professional who:

  • Has a strong understanding of statutory compliance and asset management principles.
  • Can build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and operational teams.
  • Has excellent analytical skills and can identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrates a high level of health, safety, and compliance awareness.
  • Is capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering results within deadlines.
  • Has strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Is confident presenting technical information and compliance updates to various audiences.
  • Can influence and support operational teams to achieve compliance objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience within Building Services, Facilities Management, Asset Management, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing asset data and lifecycle planning programmes.
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements within facilities management.
  • Experience conducting compliance, technical, and quality audits.
  • Knowledge of accident and incident reporting and investigation processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage asset changes and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CAFM systems such as Maximo.
  • Experience implementing procedures, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with operational teams and stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualification in a relevant Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), Compliance, Facilities Management, or Health & Safety discipline.
  • Knowledge of legislation and compliance requirements relating to:
    • Asbestos
    • Gas Safety
    • Electrical Safety
    • Fire Safety
    • Legionella Management
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems (or equivalent standards).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Maximo Planning and Integration experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Maximo or similar CAFM systems.
  • SFG20 knowledge and understanding.
  • Project Management or Asset Management qualification.
  • Experience delivering lifecycle projects and asset improvement programmes.
  • Experience implementing innovative compliance and asset management solutions.

  • Support audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action programmes.
