ROLE: CNI Technical Engineer - Day Shift Electrical Bias
HOURS: 5 days on, 2 off, 6 days on, 3 off shift rota (7am–5pm day shifts, plus on‑call when on shift)
LOCATION: Leicester

We're looking for a Multi‑skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias who will work with a prestigious Mitie client to conduct work that provides a multi‑skilled maintenance service covering electrical and mechanical disciplines, delivering both reactive and proactive maintenance across all operational equipment on a Critical National Infrastructure site.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates.
• Perform reactive repairs and Electrical Installation work as required.
• Ensure all documentation for tasks is completed correctly and all reactive jobs are recorded on the CAFM system.
• Assist with general building maintenance activities when required.
• Work to high standards in line with current company policies and procedures, reporting any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may affect service delivery, health and safety, or the environment.
• Ensure your own work, and that of anyone under your supervision, is completed safely and diligently.
Qualifications:
• Appropriate up‑to‑date training including, but not limited to, City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Experience using a range of maintenance equipment.
• IPAF 3A & 3B and basic mechanical knowledge desirable but not essential.
• Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others.
(Desirable):
• BMS knowledge.
• Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.
• Physically fit and able to carry tools and components up to 20kg.
• Experience working in a critical environment/data centre.
• Willingness to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and flexibility in working patterns.
• Suitable training may be provided to ensure competency.
