Job Title: Cleaning / Service Yard Operative
Rate of Pay: £13.85 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Type of Employment: Part Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Southside Shopping Centre, 76 Garratt Lane, Wandsworth, Greater London, England, SW18 4TF
Parking: Free parking provided in the Centre's Car Park
Work pattern: 5 days a week per rota (early mornings/afternoons/late evenings)
Over Time? available, paid at single rate
Holiday year: April to March 28 days including BHR
Start date – immediate after completion of the recruitment process
Essential: clean driving licence B category
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Your role will be to deliver cleaning services to client's facilities in and around the building, indoors and outdoors to a high standard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main duties will be to maintain clean service yards, external fire exit areas, staircases,
Waste management - drving company vehicle and transferring waste from various locations within the shopping centre
Lift & escalators cleaning.
Jet-washing, dust mopping/ dusting, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, litter picking, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass doors/ glass panels/windows, clean all stainless-steel fixtures and door panels, wet/dry mop inside and external.
General cleaning duties on an external and internal environment, service yards, and car parks.
Your duties will involve being a helpful point of contact for customers who need assistance.
Being watchful for health and safety issues and to report them to the management team.
Ensuring that the cleaning/maintenance checks & site-specific compliances are adhered to
Keeping the site safe, clean & welcoming towards our client, tenants, and visitors.
Cleaning floors across the shopping centre areas, including toilets, management and back of the house.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
How to use cleaning chemicals – COSHH desired
Driving licence B category – essential
How to operate compactor, baller, floor cleaning machine, electric pallet truck, counter balanced forklift (CPCS licence) – desired
In your new role as a Cleaning / Service Yard Operative you will ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order and meeting all agreed SLAs. Build your knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, when the work needs to be carried out and all cleaning equipment and chemicals used on the premises while following Health and Safety requirements. You will need to undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role. You will be required to work within a team and can work under their own initiative. You will need to build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivery excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
In order to be successful in this role you will need have the ability to communicate and read basic English, previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential and have a flexible approach to the role. You will need to be open, honest, self-driven and determined. You'll need to be reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
