Cleaner (Part-time) 

Hourly rate: £12.71

Hours: 8 hours per week

General Overview:   

The post holder shall be responsible for the delivery of day-to-day undertaking of Housekeeping Services at Mailbox in Birmingham.

The post holder will be responsible to the Housekeeping Supervisor of the day.

Shift pattern will be flexible to suit the needs of the business, opportunity for overtime available

 

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, buffing and vacuum cleaning of designated areas to the required standard.
  • To collect all waste and recyclables and transport to the disposal area.
  • To clean toilet, shower rooms, baby change, and rest room facilities to the required standard and to ensure that consumables are replenished as required.
  • To monitor all floor surfaces removing litter and chewing gum and to ensure spillages are cleaned up immediately before they become a hazard.
  • Spray cleaning, scrubbing, and polishing of floor.
  • To use powered equipment where necessary (ride on and pedestrian scrubbing machines, wet vac machines, sweeping machines, pressure washers, escalator cleaning machines, vacuum cleaners).
  • Cleaning of working surfaces and other furniture as directed.
  • Clearing up after flooding and/or any other emergency cleaning.
  • To keep the canal clean and to clean the canal filters so that water flows freely through the filters.
  • To remove snow, spread ice melt and display Slippery Floor signage to ensure that all surfaces are safe.
  • To report defects noticed in the course of your duties
  • To comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to equipment, cleaning chemicals, safety notices and signage.
  • Will be expected to undertake any other duties which may be regarded as within the duties and responsibilities of this post 

Knowledge skills & experience

  • Have previous housekeeping experience

Person

  • Be dependable and hardworking with a professional attitude
  • Be able to work to a schedule on their own initiative
  • Have effective communication skills

Role requirements:

§  Maintain and where possible enhance the Housekeeping and safety of our customers their staff, visitors, contractors and working colleagues

§  Protect the assets of the client by following site procedures and being aware of best practice

§  Ensure the Housekeeping and safety of the facility

§  Effectively organise and manage workloads as required without compromising the quality of the service provision

§  Respond to emergencies and assist with the evacuation and searching of the facility by following all requirements of the site JLL Emergency Response procedure
