How you will make Plan Zero happen

Mitie are a leading supplier of BMS services and solutions throughout the UK and have built established partner relationships with the leading BMS manufacturers.

The activities delivered by our highly skilled team is ensuring optimal performance of new BMS installations and upgrades across our client's sites to maintain comfort conditions and drive down energy usage in our goal to achieve Zero Carbon.

Following significant growth in Mitie's FM contract Base, Mitie are now seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic BMS Controls Engineers to join our established and successful team of professionals.

This static role offers a variety of challenges which will provide the opportunity to deliver PPM activities to our client along with additional remedial and commissioning works. You will work as part of a team and alongside our Energy Management team analysing opportunities to optimise existing Building Management Systems and gaining valuable information on how Mitie are achieving net zero for our customers.

You will need to be suitably qualified and have experience and training of a market leading Building Management System. You will also need to have a strong technical understanding of integration to third party systems and HVAC plant and applications. Ideally you will be electrically biased with at least 3 years' experience of Trend Controls 

What will you do day to day?

Provide an exceptional level of commitment and professionalism in delivering value enhancing BMS PPM activities forMitie's FM client

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on BMS components. 

Identify and deliver opportunities for improvements and essential remedial works that will increase the performance of the BMS for both our end client and the Mitie site team.

Have the opportunity to design and configure controller strategies and schematics for Trend.

Complete “Deep Dive” energy optimisation works alongside the Energy Managers to enhance the opportunities for energy savings and carbon reduction.

Carryout surveys, proposals and quoting of small / remedial works as required.

Support our on site Operations and Project teams with ad hoc reactive tasks and breakdowns

Seek opportunities to gain greater experience through ongoing projects. 

Be focused on the Mitie Plan Zero initiative and support all service line opportunities wherever possible.

Ensure all Health and Safety standards are maintained across all sites

Who will you work with?

The onsite Operational shift team and day technicians, managers and support colleagues. You will be an integral part of this team and will work alongside and under the direction and guidance of the Operations Manager.

You will also work alongside our on site project team and have involvement with subcontractors through servicing and reactive tasks. 

Experience & Skills

Ideally you will have knowledge and experience equal to the Trend Expert competency level and have the ability to confidently modify software and schematics for 963 & IQVision, 

Proven experience as a BMS engineer is essential. 

In Depth knowledge of building management systems and HVAC systems.

Relevant qualifications in engineering or related field. 

Qualified to City and Guild level or equivalent. 

Two years experience in a similar role. 

You will be confident in the use of SET and or an alternative Software Engineering Tool.

Have a strong knowledge of BMS solutions with the ability to design / modify software and schematics.

Be experienced in integrating solutions / systems.

Ideally have a good knowledge of IT networks and IP Configuration

Be effective in anticipating and understanding customer expectations and ensure customer requirements are met and expectations appropriately managed. Able to build partner relationships with customers and suppliers focusing on solving any problems.

Have an understanding of Metering and Open Protocol solutions.

Have an understanding and experience with working on and programming inverter drives, single phase and 3 phase electrical systems. 

Have an understanding and experience with working on PLC's including fault finding. 

In depth knowledge with fault finding in Motor Control Panels.
