Job Title: Bid Writer

Working hours: 9am – 5pm

Reporting to the Bid Writing Lead, the Bid Writer will produce high-quality, compelling and persuasive written content that articulates Mitie's value proposition, win themes and solutions to our customers.

The Bid Writer will be responsible for understanding customer requirements and engaging with subject matter experts to develop storyboards, content plans and written bid submissions. Working with a broad range of stakeholders, the role will also be key to ensuring the effective coordination and timely completion of bids.

Working within a high-performing bid team, you will deliver bid excellence to help secure opportunities across a variety of sectors and services.

This is a networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Draft, edit and develop responses which are compelling, accurate, persuasive and concise
  • Ensure responses drafted are visually engaging and effectively convey the required message, responding to customer requirements 
  • Understand and capture subtleties and nuances within our solutions and present value propositions, features, benefits and added value clearly and in line with customers' evaluation criteria
  • Ensure win themes, USPs, sales messages and evidence are incorporated in line with the agreed win strategy, storyboards and writing plans
  • Generate new bid content based on research, engagement across the business and use of the Mitie knowledge library
  • Schedule and lead storyboarding sessions for relevant opportunities, prior to developing storyboards and ensuring that these are adhered to throughout the writing process

 

To be successful in this position, you will have at least 2 years' proven experience in a bid writing role, working as part of a successful bid team, as well as a working knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of bid writing best practice, bid processes and methodologies. You will have demonstratable experience working with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to gather the information required to craft high-quality, compelling proposals. In addition to the above, you will have the ability to work with senior stakeholders where required, to drive the design of client-focussed solutions that meet client requirements and strong written English language skills.
