Manage and co-ordinate the bidding process to deliver high-quality bids that win new business opportunities.  Deliver high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring bids in response to customer requirements, and support to secure the company's position as the preferred solution provider.

Main duties

  • Support the sales team in the developing and implementing the overall proposal strategy, including the identification of win themes and differentiated solutions.
  • Translate win strategies into clear and compelling bid responses, ensuring that bids are compliant and high-scoring.
  • Develop and deliver detailed bid plans that outline the approach, schedule, resource requirements and reviews for each bid.
  • Analyse the client specification documents to make sure the bid addresses all customer requirements and is fully compliant.
  • Develop storyboards and other documents to make sure all client requirements are addressed, and the win themes and strategic messaging is signposted and covered across each relevant response. Once reviewed, direct the writing and editing of bid text as necessary.
  • Direct the implementation of review feedback into the bid, ensuring that the bid is refined and improved at each stage of the review process.
  • Brief and coach Bid Writers and other contributors, making sure they understand the customer's requirements and our bid strategy.
  • Support bid review teams by providing subject matter expertise, facilitating discussions, and ensuring that review feedback is captured and acted upon.
  • Proofread and edit bid materials to ensure accuracy and consistency. This includes peer reviews of other Bid Manager's bids to help share best practice and lessons learned and to improve overall quality of bids from the team.
  • Where required, write clear and concise executive summaries, solutions descriptions, and other critical components of the bid response that effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial, technical, SME and legal, to gather information and deliver winning bids.
  • Ensure fully auditable compliance with group and sales processes.
  • Own and control the SharePoint/Teams folder for each allocated bids through to handover to ops.
  • Other tasks as required, to deliver a winning bid.

Person specification

  • Proven experience as a Bid Manager, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring bids in response to new business opportunities.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and deliver a detailed bid plan and to manage the bid process from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief and train Bid Writers and other contributors, and to work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and develop winning bid strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to edit and proofread documents to ensure that they are error-free and meet the highest standards of quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of the bidding process, with the ability to analyse the ITT/specification, and identify the right resources so the bid is compliant and high-scoring.
  • Experience within the FM industry and an understanding of IFM services is strongly preferred.
