Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Manager (based in London) to be part of a team of 4 Area Security Managers overseeing 16 Team Leaders and over 154 operational staff within the London area, who provide security response and guarding to sites 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The key responsibilities include taking command and control of major/critical incidents at operational or tactical level, management and development of the team, creation and implementation of operational and emergency procedures, and to act as the key interface between security and other internal/external teams and partners.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to have real influence within Mitie security operations within London.
The Area Manager position is fixed Monday to Sunday covering early, mid and late shifts between 06:30 and 22:00. There may be occasions (due to operational requirements) when the Area Security Manager needs to provide cover during other times of the day or night. This will include performing out of hours visits to various sites and an on-call role at weekends on a rota basis (1 weekend in 4), with the occasional requirement to attend site at weekends to be part of the team managing pre planned protests or events. , with occasional travel to other sites nationally. Contractual working hours are 45 hrs per week.
The Candidate
To apply, you must have proven experience of line managing a team, ideally in a busy security, military or police environment with experience of creating and developing new procedures and processes. Previous knowledge of incident management and command and control structures and escalation processes will be beneficial. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to work is essential due to the nature of the role.
