Looking to move roles but not leaving the Mitie family?

Why not share your experience with others about life at Mitie?

Better places, thriving communities.

Location: UK Wide (Requirement to visit Birmingham office once a week)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day.

We're looking for an experienced Pensions Delivery Specialist to support a key pensions transition project across our business. This role would particularly suit a pensions professional who has previously been involved in projects transferring employees from legacy Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension arrangements into an auto-enrolment pension scheme. This is more than a traditional pensions administration role. You'll work across the full transition process, bringing together pension data, payroll, providers and internal stakeholders to help ensure employees are moved accurately and effectively into the appropriate auto-enrolment arrangements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a pensions transition project involving employees moving from legacy DB and DC pension arrangements into an auto-enrolment pension scheme.
  • Coordinate pension transition activity across internal pensions, payroll and HR teams, alongside pension providers, advisers and third-party administrators
  • Support the reconciliation of pension contributions, membership information and payroll data throughout the transition process.
  • Manage pension administration activity associated with employee transfers, ensuring agreed processes, scheme requirements and relevant pension regulations are followed.
  • Support the application of auto-enrolment requirements, including the accurate assessment and enrolment of affected employees.
  • Identify pension data discrepancies, transition risks and operational issues, working with relevant stakeholders to resolve these before implementation.
  • Work with pension providers and advisers to track transition activity, resolve queries and support successful project delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

  • Previous pensions experience gained within an in-house pensions team, pension consultancy, pension provider, trustee environment or third-party administrator.
  • Previous experience supporting or delivering a pension transition, migration or scheme change project.
  • Strong working knowledge of DB and DC pension arrangements and the differences between legacy pension schemes and workplace auto-enrolment arrangements.
  • Good practical understanding of UK auto-enrolment requirements and how these impact employees, payroll and pension administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with significant volumes of employee and pension data.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse, reconcile and manage pension data effectively.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with pensions professionals who have hands-on experience of pension change or transition projects, rather than purely business-as-usual pension administration.

You'll be:

  • Able to understand the practical implications of transferring groups of employees between pension arrangements.
  • Experienced in working across pensions, payroll, HR, providers and external advisers to deliver pension changes.
  • Confident identifying potential data, payroll or pension issues before they impact a scheme transition.
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple workstreams, deadlines and stakeholders within a project environment.
  • A clear communicator who can explain pension processes and changes to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Detail-focused, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Professional and discreet when handling sensitive employee and pension information.

What's In It For You?

  • The opportunity to play a key role in a significant pensions transition and auto-enrolment project.
  • A project-focused pensions position where your previous scheme transition experience can make an immediate impact.
  • The opportunity to further develop your experience across pension change, governance, data and implementation.
