Vacancy – Relief Security Officer (DS & CCTV Licence Required)

Location: Various TfL Sites (Relief Team)
Position: Relief Security Officer
Contract: 36 Hours per Week (Guaranteed)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday, Days, Nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays as required
Shift Times:  Various shift patterns and start/finish times depending on site operational requirements

Hourly Rate: £14.80 per hour (Paid Breaks)
Overtime: Available

Role Overview

As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide security cover across multiple sites, supporting operational requirements and ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and customer service. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, adapting to the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
• Provide security cover across various locations as required.
• Conduct internal and external patrols.
• Monitor and operate CCTV systems.
• Control access and egress of staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Report and respond to incidents, emergencies, and security breaches.
• Complete accurate incident reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Assignment Instructions (AIs), SOPs, Risk Assessments, and company policies.
• Liaise with site management, control room staff, emergency services, and stakeholders.
• Assist with investigations when required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Attend training and development courses as directed.

• Previous security experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, flexible, and adaptable to changing operational needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Physically fit to undertake patrols and operational duties.

Requirements

Essential

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) Licence.
• Valid SIA CCTV Licence.
• Previous security experience.
• Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Full UK right to work.
• Ability to travel across multiple locations.
• Police Vetting (NPPV1 / CTC) must be successfully completed within 3 months of employment where required.

Desirable

• Experience within corporate, transport, public sector, or high-profile environments.
• Experience working in a Security Control Room.
• First Aid qualification.
• CCTV monitoring experience.
