ROLE: Regional Training Manager
HOURS: 40 hours a week
LOCATION: Spectrum House, Crawley (regular national travel to all sites required)

We provide secure escorting services throughout the UK and overseas. This involves securely escorting detained individuals around the immigration estate and back to their home countries of origin on scheduled and charter flights. We also manage holding rooms and short-term holding facilities at multiple air and sea ports and reporting centres throughout the UK, working closely with Border Force.

We're looking for two Regional Training Managers to join our team. Reporting into the Escorting Services Learning & Development Lead and working in conjunction with the local Training Support Team and the wider Mitie Learning and Development team, you will ensure an efficient and professional learning support service is being provided by the Training Team.

You will possess both excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to lead a geographically dispersed Training Team, supporting numerous contracts across the business, with direct line management responsibilities. You will also be viewed as a trusted training and development professional, working in partnership with Senior Managers and other key stakeholders, to deliver quality assurance, innovation and compliance to the business.

Each role will have a distinct remit, but they will work in close partnership to run a single, standardised, high-performing training function.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and coaching to the regional trainer team, keeping them engaged, motivated and supported.
• Set clear performance expectations; conduct regular 1:1s, delivery observations and performance reviews.
• Own training scheduling and coordination, translating quarterly and annual plans into practical, deliverable delivery schedules.
• Work with operational managers to forecast demand and adjust deployment; surface capacity and blank-day findings as commercial intelligence for the L&D Lead.
• Lead the Training Support function, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation and system accuracy.
• Work with the RTM (Content, Quality & Assurance) to keep records audit-ready and support inspection response.

Required Qualifications:

• Recognised L&D qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 5 or City & Guilds Level 4 in L&D), or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Proven people leadership of a training or operational team, ideally dispersed and multi-site.
• Strong planning, scheduling and resource management skills in a complex, high-volume environment.
• Proven expertise in instructional design, assessment design and quality assurance.
