At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day.

We are looking for an experienced Regional Manager to lead the delivery of large‑scale cleaning services across a fast‑paced, complex regional portfolio covering Southern England & Wales. This is a senior operational leadership role where you will oversee service delivery and performance across your region, acting as the key interface between operational teams and the client.

You will be accountable for operational KPIs and SLAs, using performance insight to drive efficiencies, continuous improvement, and cost savings, while ensuring a consistently high standard of service. Through strong leadership, you will inspire and develop teams to deliver an excellent customer experience and achieve outstanding operational and commercial outcomes.

Job Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Operational Delivery

You will own and lead the tactical and operational delivery of your regional portfolio, ensuring Mitie and client operational targets are consistently achieved. Services must be fit for purpose and aligned to regional and local requirements. You will implement effective operating models that meet contractual obligations, ensure alignment with client strategy and brand values, and work closely with suppliers to support delivery across your region.

  • Regional Policy, Standards & Systems

The role requires the implementation and application of regional policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective, compliant, and appropriate for local operations. You will ensure compliance with data management systems and management information (MI) reporting requirements, provide strategic, technical, professional, and commercial advice to the client, and implement commercial and operating strategies to maximise value and performance across the region.

  • Performance & Financial Management

You will hold full accountability for service delivery, operational performance, and day‑to‑day operations across your regional portfolio. This includes leading regional budget planning, managing P&L performance within your area, and driving productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement. You will use analytical insight and root‑cause analysis to identify risks and opportunities and lead regular operational and strategic performance reviews with the client for your region.

  • Leadership, People & Culture

You will lead a senior leadership team across multiple locations, focusing on building a high‑performing, engaged, and inclusive culture. This includes developing management teams, creating clear succession and development pathways, and promoting a one‑team approach aligned to Mitie's values. You will also take accountability for health and safety, compliance, and creating an open working environment that encourages learning and continuous improvement.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Management

You will proactively manage regional and site‑based client and stakeholder relationships, leading regular service reviews and governance meetings. You will gather, review, and act on customer and colleague feedback, developing and maintaining improvement plans that deliv tangible and measurable value for the client.

Are You the Right Fit?

  • Proven senior operational management experience within the cleaning industry, including responsibility for multi-site cleaning operations and large frontline teams
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, operationally complex environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with hands‑on P&L responsibility
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Strong IT literacy, with confidence using operational systems, data platforms, and performance reporting tools to support service delivery and decision‑making
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Client‑driven, customer‑focused, and results oriented
  • Relevant professional, technical, or management qualifications (or willingness to work towards)
  • Full UK driving licence, due to the regional nature of the role
  • This role is subject to pre‑employment screening, including a DBS check, in line with client and contractual requirements
