ROLE: Mobile Fabric Engineer
LOCATION: South London (MET Police Contract)

We're looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to deliver high‑quality building fabric maintenance across a range of Metropolitan Police sites in South London.

Role Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs across designated MET Police buildings.
Perform carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, and general building fabric maintenance as required.
Complete minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors, walls, partitions, and building finishes.
Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in accordance with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
Maintain accurate records using Mitie systems, including job sheets, asset updates, and compliance documentation.
Liaise professionally with the client and site personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to sensitive environments.
Diagnose issues, propose solutions, and escalate complex problems when required.
Participate in the out-of-hours rota (where applicable) to support emergency call‑outs on police estates.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

Proven experience in a building fabric or multi‑trade position (carpentry preferred but not essential).
Full UK driving licence (mobile role with van provided).
Strong understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites with excellent problem‑solving skills.
Ability to pass and maintain Metropolitan Police vetting (essential) - which could take from 7-10 months
