Detention Custody Officer (DCO) – Manchester Vehicle Base
£25,094.40 per annum - (opportunity to earn an extra £2,500 during your first 2 years' service with our Step Out Bonus Scheme)
40 hours per week
24 hour service, 365 days a year.
Rolling Shift pattern covering both days and nights.

Your new role as a vehicle base DCO will be to escort and transport immigration residents within the UK.
You'll spend time both driving a small mini bus sized vehicle and escorting inside that vehicle at different times during your shift while maintaining high standards of security and safety, and promoting the welfare and decency of residents in your care.
Your working time will require you to cover both day shifts with varying start and finish times and nights shifts.
No specific role experience or qualifications are required to be a DCO as full training and supported development are given. Experience of dealing sensitively with a wide variety of people who have been agitated, confused or angry would be an advantage.
You'll begin your Care & Custody career completing a 7 week initial training course. Please note that this course may be in a separate location to the role. This will develope the skills needed to professionally deliver this rewarding, sometimes challenging role with integrity and respect.

The training course will last 7 weeks and will commence on 20th March and 24th April 2023. Attendance is compulsory during the 7 weeks.
