- Delivering RYA dinghy courses
- Delivering RYA Power boat courses
- Delivering Paddle UK SUP, kayak and canoe courses
- Conduct routine maintenance on water craft
- Issue clothing and water safety equipment
What we are looking for
- We are recruiting for a Water Sports Instructor at the Royal Navy Water Activity Centre (RNWAC) as part of the Mitie Hestia contract. Based in Portsmouth, you will assist and support the Principal and Chief Instructor in delivering all water-based activities. You will be responsible for successfully providing a customer-focused service to Military Personnel. Depending on your qualifications, you will deliver a range of courses and team taster sessions for serving personnel, Civil Service members, and local Navy contractors. These activities may include RYA Sailing Courses, RYA Powerboat Courses, Paddle UK Explore Courses, Paddle UK SUP Sheltered Awards, and team taster sessions in paddling or sailing. Essential qualifications for this role include being a qualified RYA Dinghy Instructor or Paddle Sport/SUP Instructor, along with a valid First Aid qualification. Desirable but non-essential qualifications include RYA Senior Instructor, keelboat and multihull endorsements, RYA Powerboat Instructor, Paddle UK Kayak, Canoe or SUP Coach certifications, and VHF Operators.
