Job objectives and responsibilities
· To be responsible for the regular and sufficient day to day removal of general, recycling and clinical waste,
sharp bins and used linen from wards and departments to the waste compound.
· To ensure all waste streams are segregated, handled, stored and disposed in line with the site and collection
contractor requirements.
· To plan the route for removal of all waste streams.
· To comply with the Health and Safety procedure when moving waste around the site.
· QHSE - Handles and/or processes light paperwork.
· QHSE - Follows the Company's QHSE procedures within the course of the role and performs duties within the
guidelines at all times.
· QHSE - Ensures compliance with all waste safety requirements & regulations.
Main duties
· To be competent to use equipment required – training provided.
· To remove all waste streams from allocated wasteholds regularly and in sufficient intervals.
· To ensure all lids on all wheelie bins are fully closed prior to transportation.
· To ensure all clinical waste is correctly segregated in a yellow wheelie bin and tagged according to the
site/contractors requirements prior to collection.
· To ensure all safety devices on yellow whellie bins are fully engaged in the waste compound.
